Cabelas has 1lb containers right now. It's pricy buying it this way, but not too bad if you buy a few lbs of each. At least their hazmat is only $20.

I just looked and they still have them. I cant believe it really. People must be bocking at the higher price. Or maybe the hoarders have had their fill....lol.

I did the math, and for what I paid I will be using a little over $.02 a round. If I had gotten the powder elsewhere, and the going rates others have it for, it would have been just over $.01 a round. There was literally less than a cent difference between them. Not much when you think about it, but I guess I don't shoot as much as some for it to make that much difference. If a box of 100 rounds cost me $10 to make versus $9 I'm ok with that.

I'm just glad I was able to snag some before they disappeared. If I wanted to chance it I would have waited and seen if some bottles showed up at the local Cabelas store. But I guess I just wanted to make sure I secured my chance at them.

Some of us shoot hundreds of rounds per session. The cost of powder becomes significant at those rates.

Even if I shot 100,000 rounds a year, a penny a round difference is barely 3 bucks a day. If 3 bucks a day is something to worry about, then I prob should shoot less and work more :)

BUT, if I am shooting 44 mag or something that uses 20+ grains of 2400 or rifle powder volumes, then we are not really talking about a penny a round anymore.

True, but if you don't have any powder, you'll shoot 0 rounds per session.
