m 94 winchester, how to find out what yr it is

I bought a 1894 classic 30/30, it should arrive this week. I was told it was 1967 but would like to make sure. I have the serial no. 3146xxx. So how does one confirm the yr manufactured. I am just curious. It was a member from here and he has been great to deal with. Will post pics when I get it.

Oldguns.com shows the DOM as 1968 but the sources vary a bit. You are in the right ballpark anyway.

Correction.....he is right...it is the previous year 67.

If the receiver's very shiney, take care to ensure that no sharp-edged tools (like a square-bladed screwdriver) come in contact with the sharp edges (hole edges, receiver top & bottom, etc) lest you chip off the Black Chrome.
