View Full Version : Not to old to still like my music

Seems there are all kinds of threads started here lately, so here's one with some of the old music I still like to listen to.
Hope some of my old and young friends can appreciate some of it.
If you have a favorite one or two perhaps you can add to the list.
And no, I'm not in a mood, just sharing.
Thanks
Sam

Linked to that and noticed a Mel Torme video off to the right side. According to some, he had one of the best rare Colt Single Action collections.

I listen to way too much, so here's what was on last, true groundbreaking classic & arguably the first country rock album.

The whole album "Crest of the Knave" is a hidden gem that got very little play time on the radio, when it came out in '87.

Hard to believe that CCR is a California band, not a bunch of swamp rockers like I once thought. Right now we listen to a Classic Rock station on the shop radio. We plan on buying something that will get Pandora, it's less than $50/yr for commercial-free music that exactly matches your taste.
Love to listen to Pink Floyd, the Stones, Zeppelin, etc. while I'm running some "heavy metal" machines. Keeps me chugging along...

Mance Lipscomb and Zydeco's Clifton Chenier is 99% of the music I listen to. That's Texas and Cajun 50's and 60's for the last many many years. I grew up on 40's big band and 50's country and had little other than my music and dreams........music I could afford but I dreamed of being Hopalong Cassidy. I'll die with the "Big Pink" and "The Last Waltz" for sure. When I reflect on my music; I must admit that it has taken me from one of wanting to be one of having and being able to share and give back. Only the good Lord is above my music.

Echo,
Count Basie played at my high school graduation and my then date is now my bride of 50+ years. I still have a bunch of his 78's in inventory but no working turntable.
