Nothing special but some may find this useful. I got tired of trying to hold a small micrometer and measure small boolets. Even holding the mic properly was awkward.

I have a stand for michrometer ( made several for gage and lay-out at work and ran a couple extras for myself and others) I found them awkward to use and read the mics easily. But afer 35 years as a tool and die maker holding mics became second nature. A great Idea there though. The ones I made were aluminum and brass. What I am thinking is a small magnifyuing lense mounted to the slide on my old verniier calipers to read the vernier scale while measuring.

Country gent, a smartphone with a camera can be set to enlarge the image. I use my ipad in the same manner to read the arrow on my balance beam scales.
