I just recently purchased an older( maybe even gen 1) MEC 600 JR. Its a great press from what I've seen so far but it came set up in 12 gauge 2 3/4, which is great but not what i need. I would like to set it up to run 16 gauge 2 9/16 shells for an old school A-5 of mine, however finding any information on how to set it up or any other equipment i need is proving to be difficult.
I know that i have the 16 gauge shell plate that goes at the base of the press and i think i even have the crimping starter but i have very little knowledge of how to set it up. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I hardly ever throw anything away........just have a hard time finding it sometimes. Have a MEC 600 Jr. in 16 ga. Will try to find the manual that came with it. I do remember that for the setup routine you do need a bit of patience. If I can find the material, will be glad to get you a copy. What would be the best way to get a copy to you?

Conversion kits are available, but every time I switched gauges I just bought individual parts off the parts list. Of course I usually had a lot of what I needed in my junk parts boxes.

only thing you change is the crimp. easy to do
trim the case mouth with good tin snips "easy way" and best is buy the super crown from BPI to get a good recrimp
