I haven't seen a single container of that powder yet anywhere.

The normal canister grade BE would take 4.8 gr to make about 850 fps with the H&G 68 seated
to a LOA of 1.250 to 1.260. I guess you start down around 3.5 gr and work your way up.
A chrono would be extremely helpful in doing this testing.

I have never heard of BE-86, but flash suppressant sounds like a good thing.

Don't think it is a version of BE. I thought I read it is between BE and Unique.

Alliant has load data on their website:
http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/powderlist.aspx?page=/reloaders/powderlist.aspx&type=1&powderid=38&cartridge=35

45 Auto 200 gr Lead SWC BE-86 6.7g 1,013 fps

That's a lot more powder compared to their Bullseye data. They list 4.6 g for a LSWC FOR Bullseye.

Don't quote me on this but I recall reading something years ago that BE-86 was a non-canister powder later sold to the public as Power Pistol. It was mentioned as THE powder for commercial 9 mm ammo.

I stand corrected. That was BE-84 that is power pistol. BE-86 seems a bit slower.

Alliant lists a max load of BE-86 under a 200 LSWC as being 6.7 gr and
producing 1,013 for .45 ACP in their free, online Reloading Guide. Did you try this
source? Since an H&G 68 is a 200 LWC, and one of the most commonly used
ones in .45 ACP, I would take this as the best possible source of info.
