RCBS "Universal" primer seater isn't

It pops 32 S&W almost randomly but does seat the primer first and does not hold my 41 Colt at all.

I e-mailed RCBS about this last night but haven't gotten a reply yet.

I guess they will have to remove the word Universal from all the ads. Ha!! Ha!! You can bet that they had neither caliber in mind when that piece was made. Good Luck David

I'm sure they didn't. Still haven't gotten a response, very unlike them. Maybe they already knew?

Every tool I ever bought with a "universal" shell holder turned out to be universal in the fact that they didn't hold any case well at all.
I had an old Bair case trimmer that used shell holders from your press. Bought a fancy new modern one , Forster with universal collet type holder ( it wasn't cheap either) thinking this was going to be so much better .....and it was junk, I'm back to using the Bair with slip-in shell holders. Universal is not what it's cracked up to be.

How does it work with 50-70 Govt?

Don't have one. Is that a larger base than the 45-70? Of course, it is. Haven't tried it with my 500S&W.
