Just picked up a WWII Remington 1903 Springfield with a Dayton Traister trigger installed. Two problems are going on with the assembly.

First, the firing pin will follow the bolt down when cycled very quickly. It happens every time when pushing the bolt handle home, quickly forward and upwards but doesn't happen when cycling normally. Still, not good.

Second problem is that the sear has a point of significant drag during the bolt opening cycle about midway in the lift of the bolt handle.

Anybody have an idea of why this is so and what can be done about it?

Thanks!
