Need a little info on lever safeties on .44 or .357 models. Do both Marlin and Winchester have a tang safety? Was the tang safety a newer or older addition?

Which models, Winchester, Marlin, or Rossi, can easily mount a scope? Can Rossi's even mount a scope without drilling?

Any additional info on these topics would be greatly appreciated.

Early lever actions models of Marlin and Winchester had no safeties, other than the hammer at half-cock.

Marlin is easier than Winchester for scope mounting, since it is side eject.

Rossi has a scout type scope mount that uses drilled an tapped holes that are found under the rear sight.

That is only on the Rossi round barreled guns. The octagon barreled guns are not D&T'd for scout scopes but are D&T'd for tang sights.
