I would some day like to have a fully tricked out 550B, but for now I am just glad to have a progressive. So in the search to scrounge together a poor mans bullet tray I ran across this part left over from my buddies 650 that you dont use if you have a casefeeder.

I circled it in red on the diagram

Holding some 44s!

That's a loaded round chute for an RL550. It comes with the RL550 strong mount and is supposed to be mounted on the right side strong mount. Note, the part in your pictures does not match the part you circled.

Either way, if it works for you, great!

I've got two of the chutes. One from my buddy and the one that came with my 550. One on each side.

Here's the right side chute as it is intended.

I was going to say that didn't look like any part that came with my xl650. The loaded round chute on the 650 is different.

Yep. The XL650 loaded round chute is completely different.

And is required, casefeed or not.

Actually you don't have to have the stamped steel bracket that holds the akro bin in place with the 650 if you mount it directly to the bench. The bin just sits on the bench beside the press.

Maybe it came with his strong mount. Either way I had two and I like it. I can get a 45-70 conversion instead of paying for a bullet tray. That's all

I use the chute to get the rounds into the bin.

Right there with ya! I have repurposed all sorts of things in the name of reloading. I cut up a denture cleaning tub from a hospital for use as a shell holder for the 550's.
