Hey guys,

Would appreciate some suggestions and links for an easy carrying fold up hunting chair...

I have tried a few now...

The little 3-leg stools are light and good for stuff like squirrel hunting - where you sit down for 30 minutes to let things quite down... but not good for long sits... They also tend to sink in too much...

Foam bucket lids look like they would be a good idea - but then you gotta pack in a big 'ole bucket with you....

The bigger fold up chairs generally have no straps and don't fold up for easy packing in and out....

Many of the old folding lawn chairs are too noisy...

The $6.00 white deck chairs don't fold up and are heavy

Then - there are some of the bigger ones like my $6.00 Academy director's chair that look decent, and sit fine on Cement - but are a catastrophe in the woods because they don't fold out right when the ground is soft and not level... and they have no straps - so you gotta figure out what to do with the stupid bag....

SO... What do you like for ground sitting?

Thanks

I have a little folder that I picked up from sportsman's warehouse. Legs fold as well as the back. I sit about 6 inches above the ground. It's pretty light weight and attaches to my back pack. Keeps me up off the cold ground and free from cactus or other prickly bushes. I use it for coyote hunting and this spring it will go turkey hunting with me.

Check this out.

I also like the versatility of a 5 gallon bucket. Can carry what you would put in a pack and leave the pack in camp.

I use a Cabellas 360 deg. swivel chair. It folds but it is a little heavy, and $100.00 But it is comfortable.

I attached shoulder straps to a Creedmore sports shooting stool. It has a zipper bag with several compartments attached under the seat. Folds flat and is very light weight. -Ed

I use a smaller full size folder. The bad for it had a strap for over the shoulder carry. I cut the strap in half and added an additional strap. Now, I can sling it across my back for walking.

I have one of those, but with my bad back it got uncomfortable after a bit. I got this one and the back rest makes a world of difference, and its not much heavier.
