. Mag. brass from .357 brass. Not sure where to post this but just wanted to thank those who have supplied me with info on forming.256 Win. I did purchase a set of Lee 30 Mauser dies. Only use the sizer die to form .256 and than run it into the .256 RCBS dies. Have had pretty good success. Lube cases inside mouth and out with Shaler Rislone. Size in steps and do not try to do it all at once. Loaded first 40 rounds and went to range last Sat. First box loaded with 4 grains WAP behind 69 grain Lyman cast bullet with gas check. Next 20 rounds with 4 grains PB. The WAP loads were the most accurate. Last three round we all touching. Could have covered them with a penny. Still a lot more experimenting to do, Thr WAP fire formed the cases fine. Thanks to all of you for your advices. dd

What kind of rifle? I've always found the .256 to be an interesting concept, wonder why it never caught on more.

I cheat, bought 221FB brass, expanded to 25cal set shoulder back and trimmed to lentgh. Put a 223 extractor in my Contender carbine barrel. It didnt catch on because it didnt have the velocity that varminters wanted back in '62 or '63 when it was brought out.
