Soft Lead

Just got back from getting some soft lead that was at the scrap yard .They where sell it for .70lb. Got 900 lbs of it.They had more, but this will hold me off till I see what I can do later on .Any one else have it go from about that around where they are?

That is pretty good for soft lead. They want $1.25-$1.50 around here

70 cents per pound for any lead at the local scrap yard.

65 cents for lead of any type either soft, alloy stuff or COWW.

Ours local scrap usually get .65 for any thing in the lead category. I bought 40 lbs of 50/50 solder for that not long ago.

NO SALES TO THE PUBLIC here at our scrap yards. No lead, no solder, no aluminum plates (for powdercoating), .... nothing.

We used to be able to roam the yard (2 years ago), but now both scrap places locked the gates. No public past the weigh-in scales if you are selling.

It's .70 here in NC, pure or ww. They just went up from .50, said they had to be more competitive.

There is one place I had check i the past south of me that they do not sell any lead.So far this one i went to , I have got some from them in the past.This time they told me to let them know how much I wanted before I got there that way I would not have to wait long to get it because they had to get it out from being in the back of everything else.They did have WW but I did not ask how much it was going for because of i know I would do better with soft lead as for waste then WW because you do not know how much zinc would be in it and they had it mix with other things.
