A semi-local store popped up recently. A reloading supply store. I made 100 mile trip one way to check it out, called before I left. Came home with 2 pounds of 2400 and a pound of unique.

Thankful.

He was doing something I've never seen before. He was taking 8 pound jugs, and divvying up into smaller amounts. Was glad to get it, even if it was in a ziploc bag. I didnt save any old canisters, dangit. I watched him pour it from the jugs.

Pretty neat store, he'll buy sell and trade all things reloading. Swapped some brass to cover my gas cost. Might go back on payday and get me some more.

He had Bullseye, unique, 2400, bunches of titegroup. Heck, I forgot what all he had now.

Just figured i'd share.

I scored a pound of bullseye at the gun store yesterday. They had several cans of H110, some power pistol, clays, and some 4227 (got me one of those). Gave 30. a pound though.

30 a pound for bullseye aint too bad, but for 4227, it drives the cost per round up quite a bit.

Well, I'm an hour south of Somerset, KY, so I guess I need to get the map out and see how far off these stores are.

I'm not going to rain on your parade as that was good luck on your part but I'm pretty sure atfe would not be impressed in a store selling gunpowder in unmarked zip lock bags

Saw that guy had started carrying reloading supplies. Right past Toyota. Guess I'll have to stop in. Don't worry, I'm set for powder so I won't suck your supply dry./beagle

Years ago now I used to buy my powder from a retired guy that used one pound coffee cans to repackage the powder in. He would put it in a zip lock bag then into the can and he put a label with the lot# in the bag with the powder and on the can. In Wichita Kansas a discount store used to repackage powder in quart ice cream containers that were made of paper board with a slip top lid. I would not be afraid of buying powder that way again, but two weeks ago I bought 69 lbs. of shotgun powder and pistol powder for myself and others so I am good for awhile.

I asked the gent about it, he said he asked the ATF about it during his process of being licensed to sell reloading supplies and was told it was perfectly fine as long as it was in a sealed container with a label. I provided the bags. Which he labeled in marker on the bag and on a sticker.

He seemed like an honest guy and was pleasant to deal with. I havent been back since, but I will make it that way in a month to two.
