Hi,
I have been looking at the home made tumblers and have started the early planning of it. Figure I will buy a used treadmill and take it apart for supplies. Believe a tread mill should have most parts needed. Just wondering if any body has done this?

One more question. Has any body considered building a rack (with rollers) to set over the treadmill as is and use the walking belt to drive the drum? The only downfall I see is the amount of room it would take.

Any and all thoughts appreciated. Would also like to see pictures if any body has used a treadmill as is for their drive unit.

Thanks
Doug

Personally, I wouldn't go through all the trouble of using a treadmill for parts. Google "home made ball mills" and "home made rock tumblers" for a ton of ideas. A motor, a couple pulleys and belt, some 2x4s and assorted misc. scrap will give you the makin's for a good tumbler.
