What is the difference between the 1859 and 1863 Sharps rifles ??

will lock parts interchange..??

I think I have a worn tumbler in my 1863...:groner:
Dixie has one for an 1859..
Am I good to go ???

The 59 and 63 are the same basic gun with just a few minor differences. Most if not all parts will interchange.

They are the same. Are you dealing with a repro, or an original? If you have a pedersoli, than the parts from dixie will fit, and my reccomendation is to by the fly tumbler and fly, that will give you the option of installing double set triggers later if you want. Years ago when I built my first repro on an IAB action, I'd ordered one and it dropped right in and worked flawlessly with a DST set. Later on I replaced the lockplate wiht an original NM1859(with a complete lawrence pellet primer) and still had no problems.

In the originals, the chief difference between the NM1859 and 63 is the absence of the patchbox.

It's an IAB..repro
I went ahead and ordered the tumbler, and chamber insert removal tool, from Dixie..
It hadn't occured to me that I could make a DST out of it.... or I would have ordered everything.
What I really DO want is the Berdan Sniper version..
Hey..:bigsmyl2:anybody got an IAB Berdan forend, and bands, they wanna turn loose of ???
And.. A DST setup ???
And.. a ringtail mould.??
AND a capbox....
