Just got home and found USPS left me some love, nearly 5,000 RCE jackets in various sizes to try. I am all for using range pick up brass to make my own jacketed stuff but Richard had a 10% off deal going on and I've been curious as to how these will look completed. I want to make flat punch for my 105 type .357 die set to make a full jacketed wadcutter to try, probably use a 8mm gas check to make it full jacketed.

The cost was reasonable and I know I'll have better consistency......really excited for the .45 jackets got some longer ones to make heavy .45 Colt bullets.

I use his jackets exclusively. Unless converting 22rf for giggles

+1 on his jackets. I'd like to see that jacketed wadcutter!

Hope he makes a 6mm jacket someday.

You know what is really awesome about commercial jackets..... once you have perfected making bullets out of scrap brass the commercial jackets are incredibly easy to make perfect bullets with.

Good shooting and swage on!

I have 12,000 0.58" 45 jackets on order. I've found they're the perfect size for 200-230 grain.

Terrible cell phone picture I took before leaving for the week. the big bag is all .357 jackets...I think I will be able to make some good stuff for my dads .357 sig when I get a 101 set in. I need to dig around and find my prints for making a core squish die for my walnut hills press so I have uniform cores to start with. At this point in time I think I should just start selling off all my other projects....this one seems like it will pay off more than the others :groner:

This pic reminds me... Richard now labels the bags and they are sealed. Before you got a bag with a twist tie on it. YOU had to write a label for the bag. Richard is getting fancy on us!

Yep. All mine have had a label I carefully peel away and stick to the inside back wall of whatever plastic tub I then pour them in.

I should have enough lunch meat tubs to store bench top quantities of the jackets. I have a 5lb peanut butter tub (empty of course) for the lot of .357 jackets....I have a feeling I'll be needing more about the time summer rolls around.

Yeah, my casting pots have been seeing more pure lead lately than WW lead...

And casting pure can be a pain 'cuz with zero tin, it doesn't want to fill out the mold. Too high a surface tension. Only a cosmetic problem I suppose. Once it goes through the core swage, any irregularities in diameter and differences in weight get dealt with :D

I'd like to see how those 9m's turn out too.
I tagged a few bags of them jackets on my 22 and 30 cal order.
I'm gonna try to make some 155gr ish 357's with mine for the lever-gun on the old C&H, I hope it will bump the jacket up enough to hit 358.
the 10% off was added after the order and shipping was a lot less saving me a pretty good bit.

sierra had jackets in too, I nabbed 2-k match grade .705 length jackets for 186 shipped, they make super nice 63 gr bullets for the 223's super similar to the 65 gr ones sierra shows in their catalogue [but nobody ever seems to have on the shelves]
