Hello all. My first post here.

Been looking around but can't find a hard number. What diameter of blanks for a 45 acp set. From what I read most blanking dies make coins for 45 to start with then can be drawn down for other size.

I am a cnc machinist by trade so planning on making my own.

This information is based on Dave Corbin's DC-Cups program:
Using a final jacket diameter of 0.450" and 0.032" material this is what the program calculates:
JACKET LENGTH = 0.500" OR 3/4" LENGTH
BLANK DIAMETER = 1.0191"

Different jacket lengths can be entered to obtain different blank sizes.
If you need something different calculated PM me information and I can plug in the numbers.
I have also done some blanking and cupping operations for gas checks using commercial made dies with excellent results.
Hope this helps.

Humm. How does that work when corbin sells 1 inch wide copper?

Must be thinner jacket wall as that material is only .030 to start.

Corbins sells strip up to 1.25 at .030 and offers 1.4 strip in heavier weights as well.
