I've recently purchased "new" brass on this site. I've always purchased my new brass over the counter, not second hand like this and never really inspected the brass closely.

I'll check this recently purchased brass for overall length. However, what steps would you take to inspect this new brass before loading?

I would check all the flash holes, make sure they are there and centered. It is rare that the hole is missing but if it is missing or off center it is a problem.

I always look my new brass over well since I have had some recently made Remington brass with flaws, voids, and clumpy thick brass at the case mouth, as well as the length and the flash hole.

98% of my brass came from Starline. I FL size - anneal - load and shoot

remember to check for length after you resize. I treat all new brass like old brass- careful inspection may save headaches
