Try as I might, I can't get anything other than 2014 product details off the Ruger site.

What's coming (well it is now 2015, what should be here?).

Lipseys will be the sole distributor. They have a thread on Ruger forums with info directly from lipseys. They don't even have the final details yet.

Probably some calibers we all craving like the Kropatschek 8x60R, 8x50R Lebel and the 450 Nitro Express.

Nothing like the 30/40 Krag, .303 British or .348 Winchester. Just saying....

There is still a couple of 303Brit No1s at Horsley Park Gun Shop in Sydney for anyone who's interested.

I could get by with .260 Remington. Blued personally

I'd pick up one in 358 Winchester even though I know it's going to be punishing to shoot. As much as I want it in a lever a #1 in 327 Federal would be coming home w/ me.

Thanks for posting this info. Maybe next year we will see some more desirable calibers. I would like a light sporter in 260 or 6.5 swede. I already have a 1V in 223 that I like to shoot and admire the looks.

I'm with ya there, and add 32-40.

Sounds like this years aren't gonna be terribly interesting though. O well, maybe next time....

Oh, they need a 50-90 also. Good pig rifle.

My first post was done in a sarcastic way, as an example.

The suit and tie executives running a lot of gun companies today have lost touch with what shooters want. You need people at the top who are shooters, hunters, etc., not just college boys with degrees in Business adm., and finance.

Remember back in the early 1960's when Winchester hired a bunch of "Whiz Kids" management team from Ford Motor Company to run the company? What companies need are men like Mike Walker who worked for Remington.

Boring caliber/cartridge offerings. It would be interesting to know what criteria they based their selections on.

I've read an executive for Ruger was asked about a #1 in .358 Winchester and started cussing & said it will never happen. I wonder when the powers that be will care about what we really want in caliber choices in guns & not concentrate on the next proprietary flash in the pan cartridge to come down the pike to be doomed & discontinued... sorry, got a little side tracked with my rant.

Blammer---Ruger already made a stainless #1 in 6.5 x 55. It was Stainless/walnut. I believe there was a blued version too.

kens---they also had a short run of 38-55's. Was at the Tulsa show and came upon a table with alot of #1's and spotted a box with 38-55 on it. Pulled out my wallet, but the guy in front of me had just bought it and it was the last one the guy had. :(

How about a ruger #1 with fancier wood and in 40-65 with a 28" barrel countoured to give finished wieght of around 10 1/2 - 11 lbs. Throw in a good case hardened coloring or old style high polished blue. That would be a sharp rifle.

I reckon the Tropical will be in a 450 calibre this year. They did a 375H&H in 2013 and the 450/400 last year.
I think the reason the 358Win is not made is the same as the reason they have always avoided the 308Win. It must be something to do with the case shape.

There's nothing wrong with the #1 in .308 Win, I have one. It's a 1/2" shooter most days.

I should buy one in 7-08 & have JES rebore it to .358 just to get back at the hater!

Nothing like spending over $1k on a gun to turn around and spend $250 to chamber it for what you want

I don't mind doing it w/ cheap levers. But this one would rub me wrong if I did that.

Right, not gonna happen &'twas joking - but I do have thoughts of sending one of my 336's in 30-30 to have made into a .356 Winchester to use .308 brass, and a Rem. Model 7 in 7-08 that doesn't shoot well with anything to become my second .358 Winchester, so with my .358 Ruger M77 I think I'll have the all the 358's I'll ever need if I do either or both. I've always loved the #1 though and would still like one- but not in any of this year's calibers!

I have a 336W I bought for this purpose. Worked enough overtime last week to fund it. Was able to pick up some 356 brass for cheap. I don't want to risk a misfeed while hunting.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I've read that it's not difficult for a lever action to be reworked to use a rimless case that doesn't headspace on the rim. I'm still trying to learn more about it since I'd rather be able to use .308 brass than trying to find .356 Winchester brass if it would feed reliably - but I did click on the "notify me" button at Midway so if it comes in seasonal as I've heard I'll get whatever I can at that time and I'll go that route.

Post a WTB. I got mine from a member here in very short order. It's not hard brass to make. You can make it from 444.

Just got back from SHOT. Sho' Nuff, no more Ruger #1 rifles available from Ruger. If you want one, Lipsey's is the only way to go. Such a shame...

Plenty of crappy plastic bolt actions available though.

I had JES do a 30-30 to 356. Tried 308 win brass one day, it worked just fine. I have enough 356 to last me, but nice to know 308 stuff works too.

I'm sending a 336 to JES for a rebore to .356W, and posted a WTB here & a member sold me a hundred brand new cases stamped .356, also have a ton of .308, plan after talking with member here is to use reformed .308 for practice & save .356 for hunting loads. I already have a Ruger M77 tang safety in .358W, so I'll be set to have lots of fun in .358 even without a #1.

The .308 is my all time favorite for one reason..Accuracy.
It's deadly.

I saw the catalog, unfortunately there are few calibers :(, the model that i like the most is the Varminter Stainless Steel, but it is only 223 R.
I would love to be in 308W, 300WM or some WSM.... 338 Lapua M.
Two calibers that were once, and that I like so much are the 458WM and 458 Lott.

It is interesting to see that Lipseys seem to be the only way to get them. Also that the 1B is back. The 257Wby with a 28" barrel should be a screamer.
