Told family and friends I was looking for lead and well it paid off. Last year I got about 10# of wheel weights that still need melting down. But this year I got close to a 100# of lead weights, looks like home made tractor weights used for when plowing snow. My son in law helped his friend move and some how he knew I cast boolits so he asked if I wanted the lead well ya I do, lol. He gave me 3 bars that measure 1.75x4x12 and 2 round ingots that look like leftovers from the pot and they are 4.5x2.

The way they score with a thumb nail and a knife is just like wheel weights so my best guess is COWW with some SOWW mixed in. I'll know better when I cast some boolits.

Just wondering as my scales are broke if someone can do the math for me?

1.75" x 4" x 12" = 84 cubic inches x 6.556 oz./cubic inch = 550.7 oz./16 = 34.42 lb./bar x 3 bars = 103 lb.
The other pieces, will assume 4.5" dia. x 2" thick. 3.14159 x 2.25 x 2.25 = 15.9 sq. in. x 2" x 6.556 = 208 5 oz./16 = 13 lb. x 2 pcs =26 lb.
Total =129 lb.
Did this kind of quick. Hope I got it right.

Thanks you very much for the math and I'm sure it's close enough for what I need.

Networking is the key to finding free or cheap lead. Ask, Ask, Ask! And Look, Look, Look! The more eyes that are looking, the better. Congrats on the score!
