core mold for 223

ok price to ship lead wire so expencive,am making a core mold,but need the lenth of the core.
am making 60gr soft point and i have some short 22 also the i want to make some 223 also.
so if any of you know the lenth of the core.please tell us dont keep the secret.

Here's the secret, if you can do the math.
Calculate the volume of a cylinder divide by the weight of lead.
Length x Pi x Radius squared x (desired weight /2867. 795)

I just used trial and error, back five years ago, when I was playing with a couple swaging projects

There is a member here that sent me a program that automatically calculated the depth a cording to the size drill bit your using that's what I used to make my own with a blank lee 6 cavity mold. It works great. My hard drive crashed and I lost everything on it. Let me see if I can get him to send it to me again.

You can interpolate between the 40 and 50 grains, to get about 46 to 47 grains which I have found will get you real close to a 55 to 56 grain bullet once swaged.

They can be or you can have fixed cav molds for mass production of just one size. I have a 11cav core mold from BTsniper, casts a 50gr+/- core to be swaged to final wt. So there is a little fudge room. My finish cores come out 46-47gr, finish 223 @ 56-57gr.

I have a corbin 22 cal 4 cav and numerous single cav. core molds they are all adjustable for length (weight)
