Ordered my first HP mold a 453 210 RG2 PB Brass (BD) from Al at 5:00 PM Friday, 2 Jan 15 and had it in my hand today at the Post Office in TX at 11:00 AM Monday, 5 Jan 15. Al, how did you do that?
After a short learning curve I had no trouble turning out keepers. I used my mystery lead because its the softest alloy I have. Pretty sure there is no antimony (no hint of frosting) and the tin content is unknown. Mine dropped at 221~222 gr. and .454~.455. Al calls for a weight of 218 gr w/COWW. The boolit's length was .600 as advertised.
I made up 5 dummy rounds at a COAL of 1.185 just because it covers the crimp grove and puts .307 of the boolit inside the case, same depth as my Lyman 452374 at COAL 1.272.
My dummy rounds look pretty beat up in the picture because after plunk testing I must have run them thru my Glock 30SF and CZ 97B a dozen times to test feeding. There were no issues. If the weather cooperates I'll get to the range this week.
Thanks Al!
