I have been casing for 40 years wore out 3 lymans now got a star OMG like going to a Dillion 650 from a RCBS Jr(which i did).
Any way cannot get comfortable with the mounting hight.

Currently same as dillion at 42 inches, arms gets tired kinda have to reach up.

Stood on a 8 inch high stool arms ok but then then neck gets kincked, this was at 500 boolits.

What do you guys do?

Also have stock handle wanted to try before buying shovel handle.

Thanks

You will have to try different heights until you hit your sweet spot , every one is different !
The roller handle although not nessary is a improvement over the stock handle !

I picked one up that someone had bent the handle from too much down pressure and turned the handle 180deg, it worked much better than the straight handle for me. You just have to play with it every one has a different comfort zone.

Make sure you get some dies from lathesmith. Beautifully made to your exact specs. Chris is a pleasure to deal with.

My Star is mounted at 36" and the top of the handel is even with the top of my shoulder, 57". Works great for me but I usually only do 400-800 in a session. I also went from RCBS to 650 and a 45 to Star. But still have them all. Also recommend Chris.

I prefer a ball handle on my presses, and can't see the utility of the roller - but others like them - so there!
And yes, the Star is a revelation . . .

I got my first Star luber this last summer. I had been using A Saeco luber. What a difference!
My bench height is 38 inches and seems to be a good height for me.

I still use my Saeco for small runs.

Mine are mounted on a counter that is belt buckle high for me and I stand when sizing . When building the counter I made a drawer directly under the star , bullet can drop into that onto a cloth or I can catch them and stack into a box .

What took ya so long , I think I've had mine for forty years ;-)

Get one of Lathesmith's roller handles. Much better than a shovel handle.

This is my old Star setup. Home made handle & bracket base. Sized bullets go right into the tray.
