Just picked up a Savage 99 in 308, looking for tried and true cast bullet loads for hunting with this rifle. It is a rotary magazine. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I can use OAL from the loading manuals or am I limited to a shorter OAL. Might even be an excuse to get a new NOE mold. Thanks, Steve

Have you slugged it yet? Is your's a 1:10 OR 1:12 twist barrel (they both were used in Savage 99's)?

How about a pic ?

Lacking response - I'll give my 30 caliber generic answer

- Lyman 311466 also comes to mind...
Loverin style usually works up loads pretty easily.

Thanks for reply, I just picked up the rifle today and haven't slugged or measured the twist yet. I have the lyman in a round nose version and will try it. Not sure of the proper way to lube it though. also wondering about where to start with OAL for the rotary magazine, thanks again

This is what have for my .300 Savage Model 99 & .308 Mauser.
I haven't had a chance to shoot a deer with this one yet though.
