Ok I was going through a box a misc. Ammo and found 33 rounds of a rimfire I can not id. Oal is 1.169 case dia. Is .242 rim dia. Is .294 case length is .950 bullet is a conical cast lead. Any ideas? Pic is next to a standard 22lr.

Just guessing by the photo I would say, .22 WRF AKA .22 Remington Spl. Will be interesting to see after others come around.

Looks like a WRF to me as well......I didn't measure one, but it looks to be.

Thanks John Boy. Stuck it in my favorites.
Now the question becomes do I shoot them in my 22mag Ruger single six. Sell or trade them off. Or look for a new gun. Seems a bit nuts to buy a new gun for 33 rounds but I have been known to do stupider things.

If it's new production stuff (at least 2 companies do runs every few years) and it looks like it is, just shoot it in the .22 mag SS, if it's older stuff, sell or trade it off. If you're anything like me, buy several guns for the cartridge, and then never be able to find ammo again.
