Joejr, I have had good luck with 16 to 18gr 2400 with Lymans 311041 or 311291 (about 172g dry) cast of #2 metal sized .309 and lubed w/ 50/50. 311299 (about 202g dry) also good with 24-25 gr 3031, all other factors the same.

My barrel shoots much better with cast than any jacketed load tried so far! 1.5" at 100 yd is about average, with some groups smaller. Its hard to hold a 5.5lb carbine rock steady ALL the time!

curtis44 my best load so far is 150gr lee gc sized 308 double lubed with lee liquid alox 24grains imr4198,4" at 100yd. its real hard to hold steady,no coffee.thank you very much for the info
