I have a few of the MTM R100 Deluxe boxes and like them a lot. The only problem is that 7.62x54 only fit with the bullet down. Does anyone use the R100 Magnum Deluxe and can you tell me if the 7.62x54 will fit in with the bullet up? I don't know if the Magnum boxes are taller and the cartridges could fall out of their holes if the box were turned over.

I like the R100 boxes, some of which I have been using for over 20 years, but I am not married to them. If there is another brand of box that holds 100rds with a handle on it, I would be interested in knowing about it.

Thanks!
William

Their chart shows you can put them up, but I would also like to hear from someone who has done so and how they fit. I currently use a bunch of SmartReloader(yes, the junk brand) #9 boxes that were cheap on fleabay. They work in the up position even though it says they go bullet down, but are a funky 36 count.

Use a 45/70 box for base down

That was I was thinking zuke, but like Texassako I just wanted to hear from someone on how they actually fit.

The box I use for 7.62x54r is the mtm RMLD 50. The rims do fit in the holders in the case. I use heavier bullets and they still don't touch the top.

My 7.62X54R ammo oal is 1.890" and fits comfortably in the RMLD (45-70) MTM box. The RLLD is over kill.

Thanks for the input guys! Might have to buy a couple, I was really wanting the 100 round boxes though.
