What molds/bullets are you casting that shoot well in a Marlin 336 30-30 and a Marlin 336 35 Rem? Looking for 170 FP for 30-30 and 190-200 RN or FP for the 35 Rem. GC or not, want to use them for deer. Will prob push in the 1900-2000 fps range. Both my 336s are Micro-groove bbls. I was holding out for Ranch Dog molds but nobody is parting with theirs. Recommendations are appreciated. Thanx

Why do we have this same question, by the same OP two times on two different threads posted a few minutes apart?

Once in Hunting with CB's posted at 4:54 today, and here posted at 4:55 today.

So What. Good Lord, Claude. It is not the end of the world if this guy does not follow the internet protocall that you adhere to.

Well,Claude, probably because it's a lever gun question and a hunting question . I also want to buy a mold for my micro groove 30/30, so if anyone has a recommendation, let's hear it.

(30cal only)
NOE has Ranch Dog based molds in stock. Look for this: 311 165Gr. RF 5 cavity (RD). Or go to ebay and search for 311041. The 311041GC & 311041PB molds listed by shootingsupply works for me in 3 30-30 Marlin's. I do have RD molds and they work well but can't have too many molds! I Don't have a 35cal Marlin yet so can't advise on those.

I fail to see where and how your post is of any value to anybody.

I didn't realize redundancy was in vogue on this site, and asked a simple question, thank you for a civil answer woodsie57.

To the OP,

I can't speak for the .35 Remington but in my microgroove 336 30-30 I shoot a NOE version of the 311041. Works good.

In the future if you want a 150 gr bullet for your 30-30 the Lee 150 shoots great in mine.

I used the NOE copy of the RCBS 200gr in my Marlin in 35 Remington. It shot accurately, but I passed it on before taking a deer with it. However, I used the same bullet in my 358 Winchester at 1825 fps and took several deer with it.

thanks-- was wondering if anyone had success with lee molds and micro groove barrels. Way more in my price range! They also make a 170 gr I've been looking at. The RD and NOE molds are a bit pricey for the low volume of shooting I do

I just recently bought the Lee 170 gr mold for my 30-30 but with work and the holidays I haven't had a chance to try it.

The Lee 309-170 works great in my Winchester T.R. commemorative. Excellent accuracy at 100 yards with open sights. It casts a little over .311.

Rd molds of any size and flavor seem to find a rifles sweet spot, the two I own both in 30 cal shoot great in about anything even an old rehabed 94 once I size the nose down a piece they shoot better than anything I've tried.
