Coatings

There are lots of different coatings, moly, HBN, WS2 that can be applied straight up and then these can be mixed into epoxy paint or powder coat and then there are different ways to apply them. Do we have a definitive list of all this and how it works, how to apply, what the commercial coatings are etc.? I am trying to find some info to play with this stuff. Years ago I tried a straight moly coating and it leaded like a bugger, not sure why. Sorry if this has been done already, just can't find it.
