Happy New Year too !

NICE. Keeps getting harder and harder to NOT be able to justify buying a set of swagin dies when you post pics that NICE

Shot 25 of the 209 grain 45 cal HPs today out of my G21 (Jarvis barrel and extra heavy recoil spring). Chrono'd them at 1377 FPS. They are tackdrivers too! Couldnt be happier. Was shooting the dueling tree and had NO problems hitting the paddles. Dad, on the other hand, was more worried about the recoil.

Where/from whom did you buy the adjustable Core Mold ? I also just received several BTSniper swaging die sets and can see already that the adjustable core mold is the way to go when swaging with old brass cases because or all the different weights.

I had Tim (UPNorth) make them for me. I talked to him the other day and he says he is charging $200 for them. If you don't want to pay that you can get a lead wire die from Lafaun (alfloyd) for around $70 and different size inserts for diffferent size lead wire run around $30. Then, you would need a core cutter, too.

you pushing those through a 45 super? beautiful bullets!

It is a 45 acp barrel. Dimensionally the 45 acp and 45 super are identical. Their operating pressures are different. 460 Rowland cases are a touch longer, just so you dont accidentally try to shoot the 460 rowland rounds (which operate around 35-40k psi) in a 45 acp gun. BUT, the 460 Rowlands are the same overall length as 45 acps so you can use the same magazine. So, there is no additional case capacity between the 45 acp, 45 super, and 460 rowland. I purchased an aftermarket barrel with the best case head support I could find and installed it in my G21, along with an extra heavy recoil spring. I worked up slowly and carefully to 460 loads, using 45 acp brass. Through all my research and findings, the thickest 45 brass is made by starline and they are the 45 acp +P brass. Most people assume the rowland brass is thicker and stronger, but it is not the case. I was confident in my testing and careful measurements on fired cases to move into the 460 Rowland realm with mixed HS 45 acp brass.

This is the ammo box I keep them in. I figured just in case something happens to me and someone inherits these rounds, they don't put them through a "normal" 45 ACP.

Playing around with the 50 set tonight. Had the drill press set up trimming some 45 brass and decided to play with it a bit...

What jacket length are you using for your loads? Standard 230gr 45acp and the bigger Rowlands?

I am using the .580" 45 cal jackets jackets and getting 207 grainers. I am shooting these in both 45 acp and 460 Rowland. To get 230 grainers I would imaging the .610" 45 cal jackets would work well. Haven't experimented with those yet.

I use 0.58" a lot. They weigh between 23.7 and 24.2 grains

To make 200gr JSP, I swage cores at 176 grains. I cast cores with a 6-cavity Lee 401-175. Mystery metal (range scrap) drops 'em at 190 grains, so swaging them down to 176 is a bit of a PITA.

For 230gr JSP, I swage cores at 206 grains. I am using an NOE 363-200 5-cavity mold that drops mystery metal at 208 grains. Couldn't be happier with that combination. Swaging 208 down to 206 is trivial. Probably could even do that on a reloading press.

I'm waiting on the 0.84" length to be stocked to make a 350 grain JSP for the 450 Bushmaster.

Thanks! I was on the verge of putting one of each size in the cart and trying them out. At least now I can get it narrowed down to two. I don't mind testing, but I don't have any use for weights much higher than 230gr. I suppose I could choot em in my levers, but they like cast just fine.

You could still make a 230 grainer with the .580 jacket but it would just have exposed lead. Plus, they are $2/200 cheaper LOL!

Those were prepped with BT Sniper Dies and finished with Corbin point former with hollow point tip and a dish base die. I was testing out what variations of Corbins dies I want to keep and which I want to sell. I have too many varieties to choose from.

Used some Lee 358 130 grain green powder coated bullets as cores and RCE jackets. Weight came in right at 151 grains. Should be fun in the 10MM!

Just noticed in picture 2 the bullets look really misshaped. Must have been a funny angle/lighting issue as it is an optical illusion LOL.
