A friend purchased an ammo can mount from an off road company.

I measured the can mounting plate and then made a SolidWorks sheet metal part from the measurements.

Had a sheet metal shop cut the parts with a laser and then bend the can mounting frame.

The material is 1/8 inch thick 5052 aluminum. The ammo can is the FAT Fifty ammo can.

Turned out good. A few pictures included.

I got twelve of the can mounting plates made and ordered 5 of the ammo cans.

The butterfly latch in the front of the mount and the Footman loop bolted to the rear of the can holds the can in the mounting plate.

I think I will try to remove the rubber gasket in the ammo can lid and then powder coat the cans.

I have made deer feeders with this can but the paint does not hold up out in the weather after a few years.

I will give a few to my sons and friends and trade the others for what ever I need in the shop.

Good Project that actually work well the first time.

The picture is a mounting of two of the ammo cans on a four wheeler.

The cans are used to hold ammo for a guy who shoots a large amount of 223 ammo.

The mounts fit the frame on the back of the four wheeler very well.

Of the 12 can mounts that I had made we are down to only three left.

May need to have another 12 of the mounts made.
