so i casted a bunch of 000 buck shot its .360 wanted to load some 20g
found lots of info on 12g & 00 buck but nothing on 20g with 000
so any one got a formula for 20g plastic shells

I have to think that 000 buck is too big for any useful load in 20 ga. Even two to a layer is larger than bore diameter. Never loaded 000 buck in 12 ga. but I think it just fits in as two per layer and no shotcup.

Let's see what others come up with.

Exactly, no wad in 12 gauge. I don't think it is good choice for 20 gauge.

but nothing on 20g with 000

Umm, could be a real good reason for that.

30 years or so ago I loaded my 1 1/2" muzzle loading cannon with a ball bearing grape shot load. Load was roughly 6 ea. 5/8" ball bearings. When fired, it rifled the smooth bore from the shot. ( was a smooth bore before the shot, sure wasn't after ) Side wall on the barrel was more than a inch thick 4140 steel and I think that is what kept it from bursting the barrel. Because the ball bearings stacked under pressure, only the thickness of the barrel and high tensile steel kept this thing together, it needed a new barrel, but did not burst. I'm sure the manufactures have done a test like this in 20ga. to see what the max size of shot can be used safely. I'm sure whatever 20 ga. you have has a much thinner barrel than my cannon had. I sure learned a lesson on this one. Be careful,
Chris

I say use the 000 in place of your shot and test them. That is what I done with 00 in 410 and no problem .Just replace the shot with what you want to use for buck shot and test and see if that is what you looking for.I put 4 00 in a 2 1/2" 410 and at 20 yrds i have a 7" patten and 15yards 5 ".It all depends on what you want to use it for and all. There is no data but you can still test .I do use the same wads with my 00 in the 410 just change the shot that is it .I cast my own buck shot also but found that it is best to roll them to take the sharp edges off for your patten .use a lite load for testing if not sure how it will work out.

If you replace the factory load shot with shot of equal WEIGHT you'll probably be OK, using the factory powder charge. Probably. Giving consideration to the cannon example above, BAD things can happen when large objects collide in a confined space under the forces of acceleration! Be very careful when messing with shotshell ballistics, this is NOT metallic cartridge reloading and pressures can skyrocket with only a change of primer!

Not really gonna get 000 to stack in a 20, even 00 buck wont. You can do stacks of 2 w 0 buck.
