My 375 Ruger Alaskan is just taking up space since leaving Alaska so might as well start a new project and find a good cast load for it mainly for practice and short range whitetail deer hunting.
I was thinking of the Lyman 375449 and Lyman #2 running about 1,900-2,000 fps.

What advice can ya'all offer?

The Lyman 375449 is a great bullet in the .375 H&H so I'm sure it would be just as good in the Ruger 375. It works in my Whitworh Mauser from about 1200 fps using Bullseye or other pistol/ shotgun powder to about 2,400 fps with any medium burning powder. I've had two of these molds and they both cast heavy which I think is a good thing. For speeds up to about 1500 fps you can tumble lube, forget the gas check and shoot unsized. This was the first bullet I cast for rifles and began to shoot 1.5 inch groups and smaller right off the bat. I this cast bullet thing was a breeze.... If you want a non gaschecked mold don't over look the Lee 379-250. It's been a great mold for .375 H&H and .38/55. Perhaps the best standard catalog mold Lee has ever produced. I just wish they made it in a 6 cavity.
