So, I bought what was left of an older smith's stuff. I arrived at the sale late, and was only able to pick up some random parts and tools. Most of them are un identifiable loose parts. I was hoping the hive mind might be able to help me I'd some of thdm, and thereby learn a bit more about guns and gunsmithing. So here goes. ..

Oh man...... I could be a real wise a** with that first picture..
Picture two looks like gas port reamers, as in cleaning gas ports.
I have been known to be wrong, though.

Dude, no amount of sarcasm would piss me off. Throw your pun, joke or good natured insult out there.

No. 2 looks like taper pin reamers. Should have taper number on the shank. From the picture they are probably around a number 3 or 4.

Number 1 looks like main springs for the older smith & Wesson revolvers. but they are for sure pistol main springs.

There are very faint numbers on the shank, but they are unreadable. Thanks for the info.

The 1903 colt had a bulge near the bottom of the spring, mine are straight

i think that #2 is some old tapered reamers that the smith was using for alignment pins for reassembly.
#4 looks like a 2 piece firing pin for a rifle but does not look like any i have.
if #1 is not a main spring then perhaps a trigger return spring.
those are my guesses

#1: Trigger/safety spring for Browning A-5. Both the straight sided ones and the one with tits on the side that slide into grooves in the trigger housing. GW

I don't think they are easy outs, they are almost a foot long. But, I'm not a machinist, so, my opinion does not carry much weight

'bout 4 inches long by my reckoning.

+1 Whiterabbit.
Reverse thread, rounded edges, cleaner for gas port. Using I my phone so edges look rounded.
I've seen that type of spring before in a semi auto pistol.
