Whitney Rolling Block ?

The Whitney RB is new to me. Is the Whitney as good as a Remington. I have seen a few re-barrel to 45/70

Whitney made two versions. One is more complicated that the Remington, and the other is very similar to the Remington. Some people prefer the earlier, more complicated design, identified by a two piece block. Others like the latter version. Parts of neither are interchangeable with Remington.
