View Full Version : Glock 42???
Anyone here have one? What do you think of it? I've been looking at one at a LGS. The only thing I see is I wished they would have come out with a small single stack 9mm instead of the 380.

Love mine designed a boolit for it specifically. Carry it daily. Can hit 10" plat at 50 yards with every boolit in the mag. fighting distance same hole.
Rumor is Glock is coming out with a single stack 9mm in 2015 that will be very close to the size of the Glock 42

IF they do, I'll buy three of em the first time I see them.

Perhaps the thinking is that a 9mm version of the 42 would kill 380 version sales. So sell those first, then the 9. 42 is a bit big for a 380, compared to something like a S&W bodyguard.

I think the 42 is the perfect size for a .380. There is no reason it wont get the job done with boolits or FMJ if the shooter does their part. A 42 will be the next gun I buy unless a spectacular deal on one of my lifetime goal guns comes about.
I shoot my carry guns and hunting guns alot because I believe familiarity and confidence is paramount. If a gun is uncomfortable to shoot and/or I can't hit anything with it then I'm not going to waste my time or money on it.
Happened a couple of miles from my house. Appears the Glock 42 works just fine...

first glock that I wouldn't mind having....as a matter of fact, I'd REALLY like to have one.

I recommended the .380 Auto when that was the biggest cartridge one could get in a small semi-auto pistol such as a SIG 230 or Walther PPK. (which operated by simple blow-back) Now that pistols of the same size are chambered in 9mm Luger, (such as the locked breach Kahr PM9) I no longer recommend the .380 Auto pistol.
There's nothing wrong with .380 cartridge or the guns that use it; there's just better options available these days.
A Glock 42 is a neat little gun but I'd far rather have something with the same external dimensions that was chambered in 9mm.

I am thinking smaller, not bigger. Would to see a 32ACP, double or staggered stacked in the G42 frame.
At $345 OTD with the Blue Line discount given, several co workers have the G42 and I haven't heard one complaint. Well one, their wifes/girlfriends took it for their carry and they have to buy another one.

The best kind! :bigsmyl2:
Also, forgot to add that the G42, stocked ones, like a stiff load to cycle. Loaded some lighter stuff for a friend's LCP and made the G42 a single shot.
