I get underwear for Christmas.
Since I started reloading and casting about six years ago I don't think I've bought myself any underwear or t-shirts. Every dime goes to the next mold, lead or whatever I need. Good thing I had a drawer full back then. Still, I'm getting threadbare enough to be happy if I got a package of t-shirts and underwear. Instead I asked for some paper for paperpatching, and some 405 cases to reform for a 40-63. Got to keep your priorities straight:-)

True Story!

That Ruger is a lifetime keeper. Your Mom deserves a gold star for that one.

Welcome to the club. The flatness, ergonomics, powerful yet controllable cartridge,
reliability, ability for a fine trigger, excellent safety when carried in Condition One
and durability all add up to a fine tool.

That is a mighty fine looking pistol. I love that they didn't put those asinine forward serrations on the slide. Ruger is quickly moving up on my list of 1911 pistols to buy (you have more than one). I it an all steel frame?

Been playing with my first 1911. Yea, you'll be hooked now. It seems they can be finicky, vs a revolver, as far as cartridge is concerned, but once you get it down they love to eat cast boolits.

John Browning really got the 1911 RIGHT! Definitely my favorite semi-auto handgun. The Rugers that I looked at in the LGS, seemed to be pretty solid handguns. Give your Mom an "At 'a Gal" for us.
