In this new land of load with what powder you can find over what powder you want...
Have 800X don't like it from a metering perspective and I wanted to try it in 9mm, I found IMR published data that lists a 6.5C for 124gr. Have any of you done this? I have done compressed GOEX loads but have never heard of compressed pistol smokeless loads. I will be testing 20 rounds through a P-89, any feedback is appreciated.

I can't speak to 800X but if you check data for 9mm with Blue Dot you will see all max loads end up being compressed somewhat and relatively low pressure(30KPSI or less). I don't think you could overload BD in the 9MM if you tried.

I LEE dipper a lot of 800x in my 357 loads. I think you will like it, burns clean for me and is compressed with the NOE 360-180 FN.

I use 800x occasionally in my 9mm for 120-125 grain boolits with good results. I get a few flakes of unburnt powder. The current listed max load data on the Hodgdon site for 800x is 5.0 grains under a 125 grain cast lead boolit.
I found the load you mentioned in an older handbook from IMR. It was for a 124 grain jacketed that was sized to .354. While that load should be safe enough for the jacketed bullet, I suspect it would be an overcharge for a cast boolit at 124-5 grains normally sized to .357 or more.

I have used 800x in the 9mm and have had no problems with the case being full.

Ive shot a 120gr at 6gr of 800x, was a bit hot, 125gr at the max of 5gr 1.070oal worked fine.
