I just traded into a Win 94 in 30-30 circa 1975. The trigger seems to swing forward freely without any spring tension holding it to the rear. Is that normal? Everything seems to function as normal as far as trigger firing the rifle.
Here is the story I got from the guy who traded the gun. He said he bought it in pieces in a box. The fella before him had taken it appart and couldn't get it back together (must not have youtube). He took it to a "gunsmith" for the re-assembly. That gunsmith is noted for his pistol work more than rifles. Did he miss something?
I also took a look into the trigger mechanism. I removed the stock, removed the trigger pivot screw and pulled the trigger mechanism out, separating it from the hammer. With the hammer removed, the trigger had the spring tension pushing on it.
Do I live with it or is there a fix for it? Or is it normal?
