Found a few old RCBS presses. Don't know much about them.
I will be placing these in the Trading section in January, after the holidays.

I'd be interested in wheeling and dealing on the old RC on the left if your not going to keep it.

I have it torn down right now. Cleaning and oiling. Wont be doing any restoration, just maintenance. I hadnt given it any thought. What is the old girl worth?

They look really good painted Rustoleum Hammertone Emerald. Just paint right over the crinkle finish.

Cleaned up the pins, ram and handle. Starting to look better. The ram really shined after buffing but then I slopped it up with grease. :-)

I had to look in my gun room to make sure my hammertone press was still there!

Those presses look GREAT! I have a few old RCBS press and I do not restore them, I just clean, grease, and maintain them. I think there is some beauty in leaving old presses...well...old-looking!

The Rock Chucker, RC press, is the last single stage press you'll need for the rest of your life with proper maintenance.

I have a few Hollywood Senior singles . I also have an RC on the bench. These two I dont have room for. Make me a fair offer for one or both and I will be glad to sell them. I did some cleaning on both presses. The corrosion on the handles cleaned right up. I lightly buffed them on a wheel to a nice shine.

I might be interested in the old RS on the right. Depends on the price or if you want to trade. I have a bunch of stuff.

Very nice! I have a Jr2 and a Jr3 - don't know what I'd do without 'em - great "workhorses" and still going at 50+ years.

Their both like anvils, they will last forever. I still have and use the first RS that I got in the late "60s.

I have an RS that is probably 40 years old. Still working!
I've thought about upgrading, but never have.

Considering a new one is around a $100, thought it was reasonable.

Airman,
Thanks for the offer. Handloaders that buy these don't want the new ones. They are looking specifically for the older presses. It's an addiction some of us have.

Thanks,

Harold

I have half a can of Emerald Green Hammertone Rustoleum I am willing to sell. [smilie=w:

Cheese: that one of mine actually belonged to my Son and somebody gave it to him, While he was offshore I refinished it for him and clamped it to his bench as a surprise when he came home.

I got Lunch at Fatburger out of it. total cost was for one can of paint and approximately 2 hours of work. It actually looks better than new.

The green really barks in the sunlight.

Guys I have to tell you doing this really isn't that hard, and there is a lot of satisfaction in returning something old back to useful status. Making it look new is just a byproduct.

Guess I got a good deal on my RS?, I gave $25 for it and $5 for an aluminum primer tray at a gun show, and it has everything for priming but the tube on it too.:drinks:

If you want to sell them you may have better luck posting them in the Swapping and Selling section.

Thanks Coyotehunter. The op started out as just a regular post and evolved into this. I may take a few better pix and take your advice. Getting too close to Christmas to do anything now. Have a Merry Christmas.
