Took this doe on the last day November which was the last day of the regular gun season in Michigan.
90yard shot.....the .54 RB was right on the money (Double lung and down after a short run)

She put 74lbs of fine ground venison in the freezer.

What? No tenderloin? No backstraps? Just kidding, nice doe you have there! I'm sure that will be lots of fine eating. I wish they grew that big around here!

Nope, Went all grind with this second one.
Got plenty of loin and roast cuts from the one I got on opening day.

This was opening day with my brother.

I've often thought there was something magic in the last 30 min of the last day. It's worked for me several times.

I enjoy the last day maybe the most of all season. The last seven years I have killed a deer on the last day. 4 bucks and 3 does.

Congrats on the hunt and kill!

Nice! Good shooting where in MI are you? I'm in fowlerville. Lived in the UP until 9 or ten still have people there. And TXGUNNUT the MI muzzle loading season is still on as well as bow, and then late anterless. We get like 91 or so.days of deer hunting 93 if you count the youth/disabled vet early hunt. One thing this state got almost right!

Yep, it's pretty well packed, but I still have a pair of tags and some time off around the holidays. So I'll keep scratching the itch by getting out during the late season antlerless hunt. Anything I get now will go to my daughter and her family.

nagantguy,
I'm in S.W.Michigan.....South Haven area.
Will you be out hunting any more this month?
