For a while now I've been wondering how the "plane ol 255gr rnfp" from the "cheap" Lee 6 banger mould would shoot pushed with H110 using Linebaugh 260gr data. For years I've only shot it over 8.5gr Unique as a plinking round. Today I gave it a shot. Well, 18 shots :D
Boolit is the one on the left cast from ww, air cooled lubed with my home made beeswax, vaseline, and a shot of Ballistol lube. It's got pretty good sized meplat. About the same size as the 335gr CP and 325gr Lyman and real close to the custom 350r Keith style. The one on the end is a 355gr LBT wfn.

I loaded up, 3 loads, 6rnds each. 26, 26.5, 27gr H110. New starline brass, cci 350. Shot 3 of each load at 25yds and then again at 100yds. It was 15 degrees out. I kept the ammo warm in the car.
Turned out the scope was set just right for the 25yd bullseye with this load! I'm off to a good start! I just about packed it up and went home after the first 3 at 26gr.

26.5 gr load is probably just as accurate. Shooter error here or shooter luck on the first load?! One thing though. I did crimp those first three 25yd rounds with Redding Profile Crimp die then switched to the Lee Factory crimp die. I'm not used to the Redding and like the feel of the Lee. Might have to sort that out. But, look at the ES, 7fps. 1463, 1457, 1459.

Last load at 27gr. Noted definite jump in recoil. Second round over crony was exact same as first. I'm thinking it may have been an error. 1511, 1511, 1542. Either way, I don't think I need to push it to 27 with the way the other loads shoot.

Might not get a chance to get out again for a while but I think next outing will be with the 26 and 26.5 grain loads, sight it an inch or so high at 50yds and see what I can at 100-150ish. Who knows, this might be my Dall Sheep hunt gun/load this year.
I shot this boolit out to 100yds once before. This was over 8.5gr Unique. 950ish I believe. I was aiming at the top bullseye. I've shot the same load out of the 454 levergun as well. It just seems to be a pretty darn accurate boolit. Actually I think this was 117yds. Out past this distance my 355 load drops off and I get a large pattern instead of a group. My thought is to see if this 255er at 1400+ would group good out to 150ish.
