A look through a couple of these, sprinkled with a bit of imagination causes shivers...

Have a look at these.... there's a fair bit of concurrent legislative activity across the country.

Hawaii http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=3507
Illinois http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=3508

Guess the annoying part is whether or not the kids will have the same freedom of us.

Not to be taken as advertisement, but the organization sponsoring these links do a good job providing news (much better than evening news!) regarding firearms freedom; and perhaps the best part is the email links to our elected representatives.

Makes it pretty darn simple to express your opinion. Replies (most of time) do suggest someone reads them.

On behalf of the kids, please join me in doing our part to impart some influence on that swing of the pendelum...

Best Regards,
Tom

yep i know what ya mean, us younguns use to gather pepsi bottles to get a box of 22s so we could go shoot turtles& snakes in the creek by ourselves!!!!!!!
now or in the near futureyoull have to wait seven days for a back ground check to buy 22s
its sad that a few can bring injustice to all of us!!!!!!

Just another example of politicians making rules about something they have no clue about. Do they not have any idea of how inventive man can be, to improvise, adapt, and overcome such stupid regulation? Is there enough room on a .22 rimfire bullet to serialize it, when billions of that caliber are fired every year? When the price of cigarrettes went through the roof due to "sin tax" in New York, they only created a smuggling problem. A lot of stores along I-95 in South Carolina have a 5 carton maximum purchase policy. That doesn't mean you can't stop at several different stores on they way back to N.Y. Its one thing to make a "proclaimation" but another to enforce it. Unfortunately, the elitist Socialists who make these rules don't realy care about those who have to enforce them. Where are they going to get cops dumb enough to try?

I corresponded with a legislator in my state awhile back on a particular bill. I received in the mail by mistake a memo to one of his aids. He said that he had no idea what the bill was about and would they inform him. That's good that he asks I guess but I wondered how he keeps up with all he is responsible to vote on. Alot of cracks in the floor at the legislature. To many flaws in the legislative system ie "riders " on bills. Too many ways to confuse and circumvent the will of the people. Makes me wonder if it's true when they say " If voting made a difference, it would be illegal."

We don't have the freedoms that we had 20 years ago. It will soon get to the point that if it isn't specifically permitted, it will be illegal. There is already the problem of contradictory laws on the books. What we can look forward to is the dangerous precedent of selective enforcement. The BATF already does this.
