working up loads in a Keltec sub 2000 in forty ..
currently at 4 gr of WST under a 135 gr Miha hp ... no crono available ..
accuracy at fifty yds is good also not bad at 100 , recoil is decent ..
At fifty , hitting a steel swinging plate , it swings it almost to the top ,rather impressive .
Hogdon's chart says starting loads at 5 grains at least ...so the question :
Could this be a situation of "over pressure spike" ? .. with lower level than suggested and also taking into account this is lead ... not a plated or jacketed boolet.
Looking at the shells , there is no tell as to much pressure ...
any how , thanks for any input here

I haven't heard that WST was prone to low charge pressure spikes. If it were pressure spikes, it would not be consistent at all. You would have a really high pressure one shot and the next not so much.
I think since this is a cast lead boolit, that you are right at the starting load for that combination, at least with your particular weapon. Since accuracy and function are good, I would go with it as is or experiment with slightly higher charges if you need more speed for some reason.

Thanks much for the info Tazman ....that is basically what my thinking is .
The rounds are consistent so your point of view is much appreciated here .

I used 4 in 9mm 130gr XDs, 4.5 in 40SW 165 gr. HiTek coated. Shot well just leaded in both. I'll retry with PC'd boolits, it may be too fast for my alloy.

This was a very nice idea. But we must try to see the result.

I use 4.8 for full power loads under a Lee 175TC that drops at 180ish with 50/50. Gives 950fps in 3" bbl. Haven't chronoed in a longer bbl. Using both Hi-Tek and PC boolits. More accurate than I can shoot and no leading with either coating. I like 4gr for lighter recoil loads. Gives 800-850fps. I've loaded down to 3gr to see what would cycle the action but didn't test accuracy. The 4.8 gr load seems slightly more accurate than the 4gr load. I don't think you're too light, the powder is fast enough and easy to ignite and should be just fine
