Just like to report my findings so far with a new RCBS 45-255-SWC mold, in case anyone is thinking of getting one.
Using COWW+2% Sn, the mold drops a boolit weighing 268 gr. with my alloy. The as-cast diameter mics at .4550"-.4555".
Three driving bands on the boolit, all casting full diameter.
Nice big meplat, measuring about .320", as near as I can measure.
Boolits fall from mold freely right from the start.
I am entirely satisfied with mold. I give RCBS an "Atta' boy" for a quality product.:bigsmyl2:

That's been my experience with RCBS molds. I have 20+ from RCBS and the worst one is a joy to cast with that easily drops good bullets. My one and only gripe with RCBS is that pesky two cavity thing, if they made four cavs I'd have a lot less MP and NOE molds.

Good mold, same one I have and almost the same WW weight.

Excellent report. I have one but it hasn't been kissed by Galena yet. In time when I find time. I do wish it was a 4-5 banger though. Even still, when in rotation, a 2c mold can make a mountain of boolits

Based on the pictures I seen online it appears that the grease groove is "squared" as opposed to the newer Lyman that I have that is radiised. Is that true?

Here is a pic of an old RCBS 45 255, seems the design has changed in that the newer molds have a wider middle driving band but still have the flat lube groove. Not squared, notice the angle on the lube groove, that's so the bullets fall out easier. Can be a bear to get bullets to drop from a square lube groove.
