I recently got one off ebay that was a basket case. They were made 1946-47.
this one is missing the knocker. I probably won't use it and just display it like most of the others I own. Redding calls it the "Flex Ring"

I like mine. It works well with stick powders that others seem to cut, but not so well with ball powders. They tend to get under the flex ring wiper on mine.

well the flex ring is over 65 yrs old. Too bad you can't get a fat oring to take its place.It seems like a good idea to have a wiper to deflect powder grains instead of cutting them.
Some small hydraulic cylinders have similar looking wipers but I dunno how you would find one suitable.

Nice restoration there john!

I think they are cool as all get out, even though I haven't used mine yet. It is just not conducive to my set up.

thanks LD ,i could'nt find 2 5/8 tubing cheap so I made an adaptor to use the cheaper 2 1/2.
