Hi all,
I ordered one of these scopes today for my Pedersoli John Bodine rolling block, have read some good things about the scopes and some less than good things about the mounts. Anyone have one of these? Any thoughts?

I have one of the 18 inch scopes. It's pretty good optics, but the mounts are less than desirable. Setting it up with the Unertl type mounts from DZ Arms was money very well spent.

I just sold a 30" Malcolm. If your roller is a 45-70 make sure your mounts are rock solid. I had issues even with light loads.
The scope is decent, for what it is. Don't expect Swarovski or Leupold quality from a replica of a 19th century scope. Mine was adequate to 200 yards.

Thanks for the info, kind of what I was expecting to hear. Going to give it a whirl and hope for the best. If nothing else it oughta look pretty cool.

Those are some really neat looking scopes. Talking about the dovetail mounts or another style?

I have an article on my web site I penned about the new Leatherwood "Sniper" mounts that are quite good. Not sure they would have enough "up" on the long scopes. But they work great on the 18" scopes

As was stated, the optics are quite good, but the mounts are terrible. No repeatability and bring lots of "locktite" to keep things from loosening.

I have a few of them mounted on various rifles. With work, they are serviceable.

By the way, I have a set of barely used MVA mid range sights available.

I went for the fine elevation adjustment rear mount with Sharps recoil base. I think it would have worked pretty well if the damned screws had stayed put.
