Deer Breaks Into House, Ransacks BathroomWoman shocked to see deer run through her home(Newser) – Police say a deer burst through the front doors of a New Jersey home, darted through the residence and ransacked the master bathroom. Galloway police received a 911 call at around 3:30pm yesterday from a woman reporting that a deer ran through her house while she was putting sweet potatoes in the oven. The woman said she followed the deer into the back of the house and locked it in a bathroom.
Responding officers found the glass on the front storm door shattered. They also found the frame on the main door damaged, indicating that the deer muscled its way through two doors to enter the home. After a brief standoff, police escorted the deer from the home and released it into the wild. The bathroom was significantly damaged.

Years ago, I think it was the outdoor life magazines that had a section called, this happenned to me. A bull moose walking on a snow drift fell through the roof of a house and landed in the peoples bedroom. It's rack was way too big for it to get out the door or window. The folks called the game warden, and was told, this was not under his job discription. A call to the state police got the same nothing we can do about it. lol They had to shoot, gut, gill and cut it up to get it out of the bedroom that had been destroyed. lol

I've been trying to decide what bait to put out for Ohio's January whitetail muzzleloader season. I think I will go with sweet potatoes.

Today I was talking with the grocery store manager of the town I work in. BTW, this store has the entire front entry in floor to ceiling windows. Anyway, manager was saying that a number of years ago a buck was walking by the front of the store one night and saw his reflection in the glass. He then charged the reflection and busted in the window which set the alarm off which caused the police arrived. My manager friend was called to the store and when he got there the buck was trying to climb a soda display in the back of the store to avoid the humans. Eventually they got the buck out of the store by lining shopping carts down the closest aisle and then bringing in the neighboring towns K-9 in to get the buck herded down the row of carts and out of the store.

These stories just prove that truth is often stranger than fiction.
