So the other day I found a reloading press for sale locally. I am currently only using a Lee single stage and have been looking for something to speed the process up. When I met up with the seller I picked up w Lyman tumbler, about 150 .308 brass, 200 LR primers, Lee .308 dies, 25 SP bullets, 2 beam scales, 2 reloading trays, and a semi working Lee auto prime. I say this because only the large primer one works. The small one is missing the spring and primer insert thing. This is an older model so I dont think Lee has one I could buy. The press is a Lyman T-Mag? Anyway I picked up the lot for 125. Did I come out ok on this?

On a side note, can I still get parts for the press assuming it is a T-Mag? I would like another turret, the primer catching cup, and to prime on the press if possible. I just dont know if the new T-Mag II stuff fits this press.

I think you did good. Check with Lee as they might have parts or ask here as somebody might have the spare parts. You can still get parts for the Lyman turret press. From Lyman or cruise gun shows.

You did quite well! Hey, did you ever get that lee 230gr mold to work for you?

Yeah it works like a dream. I havent tried to push it to the limit yet, but at 40 yards I can hit a 4 inch target every time. Thats got me happy for now.

I'd say you did pretty darn good.

I still have my old orange T-mag (refinished it black to match my newer one)

I also have a newer style Lyman T-mag II.

The T-Mag is a fine press to reload with. I like them both, and have been assembling quality boolits with the old T-Mag for quite a few years now. The T-Mag is just not a beefy press that was built for swaging with it's rotating turret head.

For really heavy duty work, (like bullet swaging) I would use my old Rock Chucker, or some other O frame press. 99% of what I do, can be done on the T-mag however.

You did good .I have the same Lyman T press there is one thing to let you know about it that the screw that is in the center Lyman dose not make it as a replacement part.It is best to use a single stage press to deprime and size your brass that way it is easy on the T press that is what i end up doing when I was sizen some 308 and was not feel right on the T press and I got that press single stage used from someone. But you did great for the price you paid and also do like was stated about the Lee press.

Awesome guys thanks again. Do any of you happen to know if the new tmag turrets will fit the old press? 6 holes is convenient for me because I can get 2 die sets on one turret. I would like to pick up another for pistol rounds.

Nice find.

I just finished loading several hundred .38 spl on a press just like that.
